Speak Up Conference 2017
Have you ever had an experience where you needed to pinch yourself to make sure it was real? That was Speak Up Conference 2017 for me!
For years I had dreamed of attending, but one thing or another held me back. This year, I knew it was my year. I traveled half way across the country by myself and knew nobody as I walked through the doors that first afternoon. I was full of anticipation, uncertainty and… let’s be honest here, more than a little insecurity.
My fears were quickly put to rest as I began to meet people… MY PEOPLE! People who shared this passion of using our God given gifts as communicators to bring the hope of Jesus to a desperate world. People who have been just as broken as I have and have watched as God wove together a beautiful story of healing and restoration in their lives. People who were more interested in hearing my heart than sizing up the competition. Just amazing!!!
My 3 big takeaways:
1. My calling was confirmed. Over and over through conversations with new friends, feedback from professionals further down this road than I am, and time in God’s Word and worship over the three days of conference, I knew, that I knew, that I knew, God has called me to write and speak!
2. I found next steps! Day one I was full of hopes and dreams that felt just out of reach, but by day two, I knew exactly what I needed to do next. After two back to back individual appointments with professionals recommending “I really think you should start a blog”… I knew I needed to – you guessed it – start at blog! And here we are!
3. I learned. Oh, how I learned! The quality of the workshops not only equipped me with practical skills that continue to grow and challenge me, but also taught me how much I have yet to learn! I truly am at the start of this journey, but I have met some amazing mentors through Speak Up who spoke wind into the sails of my dreams and will continue to impact, encourage, and help me learn as I move forward. Beyond blessed!
Where will you be next June when Speak Up 2018 is taking place? I truly hope and pray it will be in the seat next to me!!!

May God continue to use you, Nancy, to share His light and love every where you go. Super grateful our paths crossed, dear sister. And thrilled we are on the same Team!
Sweet blessings,
